My Review

Although this story deals with grief and loss, it draws so many smiles! It's colourful, exuberant illustrations have a retro feel and ensure that the book remains a firm celebration of life and friendship despite Mr. Milligan's sadness over the loss of his pet goat, Charlie. Grace's persistance and kindness towards Mr Milligan are what help him through his grief and enable him to find joy again.

Set on the Australian coast, the beach and outdoor life feature strongly in the story, and give the reader a taste of somewhere that feels familiar but different all at the same time.

Heads Up!

This story will touch a chord for anyone who has lost someone, animal or human.

Publisher Review

Grace lives next door to old Mr Milligan and his goat Charlie. They are the best of friends. But when Mr Milligan's beloved goat dies, everything changes. Will Grace be able to help her friend overcome his sadness? Grace and Mr Milligan is a heart-warming story of grief, love and the healing power of friendship.
