My Review
With simple, quintessentially standout illustrations by Eric Carle, this book is a fab choice for reading aloud to a whole class, but is equally at home on a home bookshelf. Brilliantly breaking down the life cycle of a seed, it's my go-to book for teaching this area of the science curriculum.
Heads Up!
Eric Carle is, of course, the author of countless other brilliant books for 3-5s - 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar', obviously, but other favourites like 'The Very Busy Spider' and 'The Bad-tempered Ladybird' too.
Publisher Review
A much-loved classic from the creator of The Very Hungry Caterpillar
This is the story of how a tiny seed travels from its parent plant and blows across seas, deserts and mountains, braving many hazards along the way, before finally finding a place to settle and grow into a beautiful flower so that the story can start again. A beautiful and uplifting first introduction to the life cycle of a seed.
